Freddy Mercury

Freddy MercuryFreddy Mercury (real name - Farookh Bulsara) was born on the island of Zanzibar (now part of Tanzania), in a wealthy Persian family, Zoroastrians. In early 1950s his family moved to Bombay, where Farookh studied in a boarding school, demonstrating the ability to literature, painting, sports, studied piano. In 1959 a young man and his family arrived in London and in 1965 he entered the College of Art, "Ealing", where he studied painting, design, engaged in ballet and music. He was a big fan of student rock band "The Smile", which was created by his college friend Tim Staffell, and after his departure, Farookh, who has taken a more familiar for the UK name Freddie Mercury, left the band "Wreckage", where he was a vocalist, and joined Brian May wtogether with Roger Taylor. After occurence of the bas-guitarist John Deacon appeared the legendary band "Queen".

Freddy Mercury is an author of the majority of tracks of "Queen", including the famous "Bohemian Rhapsody", "Love Of My Life", "We Are The Champions". He owned the leading role in musical conceptualization of the group, through his artistry and energy of speech "Queen" turned into a spectacular show. He also wrote scripts and produced the clips of the group. In addition to the work in the group, Freddie Mercury released several solo discs, the single "Love Kills" and the album "Mr. Bad Guy" , which entered the British top ten, while the single "The Great Pretender" took fourth place in the list of popularity. One of the best musical events of 1988 was the release of the CD "Barcelona" - along with an outstanding opera singer Montserrat Caballe, Freddie Mercury performed the classic opera arias.

In 1991, was released the disc "Innuendo" and the clip "Days Of Our Lives", and Mercury disappeared from the sight of the press. November 23, he professed that he is ill with AIDS (however, rumors about this were since 1986, but members of the group refuted them). One day after the legendary singer was gone...

In the spring of 1992 at London's Wembley Stadium took place a concert in memory of Mercury, on which the songs of "Queen" were performed by such world stars as Elton John, Liza Minnelli, George Michael, David Bowie, "Guns'n'Roses". In the end of 1995, was released album "Made In Heaven" - the creation of which have completed May, Taylor and Deacon, using the lifetime records of Freddy Mercury.
